On Portuguese Pod 101, at the end of the List of Levels where you can choose from, there is a segment called “Bonus Courses” that consists of extra/supplementary material to help you study Portuguese. This is at the end of both Audio Lessons and Video Lessons. It’s important to remember that the extra material is only available for Premium Members.
When you click on Bonus Courses (in Audio Lessons) you’ll find two different themes, one is called “Inner Circle” which consists of 24 monthly lessons as the website called Tips, Tools & Success Strategies for Mastering Portuguese until 2015.
This extra material starts on January of 2014 with the theme “Your New Year’s Resolution Solution” where you’ll learn about for example, 3 reasons why New Year’s Resolutions Fail, How to set achievable language goals and examples of good and bad resolutions. The final lesson is called “December Inner Center: how mastering a language has changed my life”, which is basically motivational material about never giving up and how we all have the ability to master Portuguese if we set our minds to it..
The format of the other theme, Portuguese Vocab Builder is similar to the lessons you’ll find in the Portuguese Pod Advanced Level. Apart from the the obvious audio file, it consists of an introduction, lesson materials and review. The topics covered are very useful, such as Colors, Bugs and Insects and other interesting subjects.
In the Video Lessons, the Portuguese Pod Bonus Courses are slightly different, in terms of format. You can choose between learning with pictures or learning with videos. If you pick the Learn with Pictures option then you’ll watch a video with pictures where you’ll be able to learn new vocabulary in a very interesting way. The topics go from Facial Features to Farm Animals.
The Learn with Video aspect of Portuguese Pod 101 is quite similar in vocabulary terms with the Learn with Pictures but in this one you’ll be watching a video, which means it will be more realistic and interesting.
